This week (3/6) will be the third and final lunch hosted by JFPC.  Our theme is Spiritual Healing, led by Pastor Tina.  Next week, (3/13) we will shift our location to JUMC.

BOOK STUDY: NEW BOOK!   Please join us as we discuss Anne Lamott’s book, “Help, Thanks, Wow: The Three Essential Prayers.”  All are welcome.  Thursdays at 10:30am.

KING’S KUPBOARD NEEDS HELP!

With food insecurity on the rise and decreased donations across the state and nation, King’s Kupboard is asking for donations. They ask rather than donate one or two of each item, please consider grabbing multiples of one thing.  This helps cut down competition when only a few desired items are available.

ESPECIALLY NEEDED:
* Dish soap
* Laundry soap
* Shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash
* Toothpaste
* Toilet Paper
* Peanut Butter
* Mac n Cheese
* Egg Noodles or Elbow Macaroni
* Pasta Sauce
* Instant Mashed Potato
* (Jiffy) Cornbread mix

Also, they are creating EASTER BOXES to feed the spirit as well as the body.  Our church is being asked to help.  We will collect the following until  3/17) :

EGGS - to remind us of hope, new life, and Christ rising from the tomb

BREAD & BUTTER — Bread to remind us of the Body of Christ, and butter for the richness of the gift of Jesus

BOXED CHEESY POTATOES — (au gratin, for example) Cheese represents moderation and potatoes humility

GREEN VEGETABLES — to remind us of growth and life out of the death of winter

EASTER CAKE SETS — White cake, icing, and jelly beans — to remind us of the sweetness of new life and blessings yet to come

SALT & PEPPER — A reminder that Jesus calls us to be seasoning to our community

LAUNDRY BASKETS & HOLIDAY NAPKINS — Baskets were a way of giving gifts with extra beauty a napkin was placed on top of the baskets to keep the surprise until the day of Resurrection

GIFT CARDS/CASH DONATIONS — for purchasing items that are not collected

You are Invited to:

  1)  Donate supplies to Kings Kupboard Food Pantry operated by Trinity Lutheran Church.  Ellen Justice-Templeton has provided lists of needed items and as they are brought to JFPC she will take them to the pantry.

2)Join our Sewing with Purpose group on Friday mornings as we make sundresses for a mission project.

All skill levels are needed. We start at 9am and finish about noon, but you can come and go as you please.  Portable sewing machines are welcome!  Sewing will begin on Friday, October 13th.

Here is your chance to find out.  We will offer a 3 week class to explore these questions (with field trips!)
At the end of the course you will have the option of joining the church.  Membership is not required.  This is a great way to explore
Your faith, our history, and where you fit.  All are welcome (including current members).  It’s also offered to our youth who may have missed Confirmation class due to the pandemic.

It's never too early to begin to learn the art of prayer.

 Our church operates with the generous co-operation of volunteers from our congregation.   Sign up lists are located on the bulletin board in the fellowship hallway next to the church office. We need people to usher, light candles before each service, provide refreshments for fellowship hour and be the liturgist assisting our pastor with the Sunday Service.  If you have a gift that you would like to share with the church, please add your name to one of the lists, or all three!!

      Please read the newsletter for complete information on the status of the 2024 Holy Land trip

Avenir Light is a clean and stylish font favored by designers. It's easy on the eyes and a great go-to font for titles, paragraphs & more.

Make sure to save the 1st Saturday in December for the JFPC Christmas Bazaar.  Baked goods, vendors and a luncheon are on the menu for that day.

Holidays are always special at JFPC!

In 2023 Jonesville First Presbyterian Church
will celebrate an anniversary (170 years since
our first church building was erected, and
145? years since we have been in our current

building). We would love to compile a col-
lection of photos of our church throughout the

years. If you happen to have wedding pic-
tures, Sunday School photos, or others of our

church from earlier years – different paint
colors, before the Fellowship Hall wing was
added, etc, we would love to make copies of
them!

Grief Group Our congregation has suffered significant losses in the past couple of years.  Many in our midst are grieving – the loss of loved ones, jobs, relationships, health.  If you are in grief, (over anything), you are invited to JFPC’s Grief Group.  We have no curriculum, no agenda, no purpose other than to listen, to support each other, and to offer a safe place to grieve openly. We will meet Wednesdays at 1:15pm.
